WCERE2018
6th World Congress of Environmental and Resource Economists

Information for Congress participants travelling with young children

Several playgrounds and parks are located within walking distance from the congress venue and there are smaller grocery stores and cafes in the neighborhood for basic snacks and food. Fridges and micro waves are available at the venue to facilitate storing and heating of food.

For parents in need of child care facilities, there are at least two options:

1. Parents can sign up for child care facilities at their own expense via Nannyakuten https://nannyakuten.se/en/. Payments are made in advance to Nannyakuten. There will be a dedicated room for children and nannies in a separate part of the Congress venue. Some toys will be provided, but it is preferable that parents also bring something to activate their children with, especially if the weather doesn’t allow for going outside. Parents are responsible for bringing something for their children to eat and drink.

Please contact Nannyakuten by e-mailing info@nannyakuten.se by May 18th, 2018, and provide them with the following details:

  • Number of children and age(s)
  • Language(s) spoken
  • Allergies
  • Special needs and/or disabilities
  • Contact information
  • Days and hours you wish child care facilities

Indicate that you are a participant of WCERE 2018.

Please contact Nannyakuten if you have any questions about this option.

2. For parents who would like to work out their own babysitting solutions (e.g. take turns to look after each other’s children some part of the day), WCERE LOC offers to put participants in contact. Please contact wcere2018@gu.se if you are interested in this option.
