CO2 Offset

With your carbon offset you will be supporting the initiative "Regala un albero alla tua città" (“Donate a tree to your city”), run by the Municipality of Rimini.

The initiative foresees the increase of the green infrastructure of the city both along the streets and in the parks, and, according to Regione Emilia Romagna, to support the distribution of 4.5 million trees by 2025 (“Mettiamo radici per il futuro”), with the aim of building a large regional green corridor and addressing the challenges of the climate emergency.

The municipal administration intends to promote and incentivise tree donations also by private citizens, associations, commercial enterprises/individual firms through the implementation of two sub-initiatives:

1 - Crowdfunding / Fundraising: citizens, associations, commercial enterprises/individual firms can make a contribution of at least EUR 35.00  per tree to the Municipality. The Municipality will use the money raised to carry out one (or more) peri-urban forest project. The money will cover the planting cost of forestal trees (about 1-1.50 height) and the first years irrigation costs to guarantee their growth.

2 - Crowdfunding / Fundraising: citizens, associations, commercial enterprises/individual firms can make a contribution of at least EUR 150.00 to the municipality. The Municipality will use the money raised to carry out one or more replanting projects along the streets where there has been previous felling and/or projects to replace 'failures' in tree rows that are in a difficult situation (presence of pathologies, ageing or instability of specimens, etc.). Also in this case the dimension of the trees is 12-18 cm circumference according to what type of tree.

3 - Donation of individual trees (12-18 cm circumference according to what type of tree): citizens can pay the municipality a contribution of EUR 250.00 for each tree. This amount is a contribution to the much higher costs of supplying, planting and rooting the species chosen for the donation. The trees will be planted in certain green areas such as parks or neighbourhood gardens, suitable for the initiative.

The choice between the three contribution modes mentioned above, or between more than one of them, will be made taking into account the amount collected.
