Call for Science-Policy-Business Sessions

SCIENCE-POLICY-BUSINESS SESSIONS aim to advance the use of environmental and resource economics to support policy-making and to provide a forum of exchange between policy-makers, the business sector and academics. Sessions are expected to be of interest to a broad audience of research economists. They will typically be formatted as three to four short presentations followed by panel/roundtable discussions. Papers are not required. The Programme Committee will select a limited number of proposed Science-Policy-Business Sessions based on significance and originality. The Science-Policy-Business Sessions will be held as parallel sessions on Monday, June 16 in the afternoon. The Science-Policy-Business Sessions will be held in hybrid format, and will have a duration of one hour each.
Guidelines and rules for the submission
To propose a Science-Policy-Business Session, please go to our ConfTool platform and use the option “Science-Policy-Business Session proposal”.
If you do not have a ConfTool account, please create one by selecting, "No, I would like to register now." Once you have logged into your account, use the option "Your Submissions" in order to submit your proposal.
In the submission form, please input the name(s) of your session organiser(s), as well as the presenters/participants of your session. You will have the opportunity to change/update the participants of your session until the submission deadline (31 January 2025).
In the PDF of your proposal, please include the following information:

Proposed title of the Science-Policy-Business Session

Name(s) of the Science-Policy-Business Session's organiser(s)

A short description of the theme and its relevance to environmental or natural resource economists

For each participant a one-paragraph bio and a brief description of their expertise

Each participant in the Science-Policy-Business Session contributes a short statement to the proposal about their contribution to the session.
Rules for Science-Policy-Business Session

Science-Policy-Business Session organiser(s) must commit to attend EAERE 2025 and to chair their Session.

Science-Policy-Business Session organiser(s) are responsible for ensuring that the session contributors are aware of and follow the rules below.

There are no earmarked financial resources to support Science-Policy-Business Sessions. However, participants whose primary affiliation is with a Public Policy Institution (National or International) contributing to a Science-Policy-Business Session qualify for free access to EAERE 2025 on the day of their session. No further access or discounts on registration fees can be provided. All nominated participants of Science-Policy-Business Session are to be registered by 30 April 2025.

Sessions will be recorded and may be made public after the event through the Association's communication channels. It will be the responsibility of the session organiser(s) to collect explicit consent from session participants to this effect, following the instructions he/she will receive from EAERE in due course.

The deadline for the submission of proposals is January 31, 2025.

Notification of the decision by the Programme Committee is scheduled for February 14, 2025.
